In StockAn Automatic Street Light using the IC 555 is a simple circuit that turns street lights ON at night and OFF during the day automatically. It uses a Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) to detect ambient light and a 555 Timer IC configured in comparator mode to control the switching.
Description
An Automatic Street Light system eliminates the need for manual operation of outdoor lighting. The system is built around the popular 555 Timer IC, configured to work as a comparator. It detects the change in ambient light using an LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) and switches the light ON or OFF accordingly.
During daylight, the resistance of the LDR is low, and the 555 IC output remains LOW, keeping the light OFF. At night, the resistance increases significantly, causing the 555 output to go HIGH, turning the light ON through a transistor switch or relay.
Applications:
1.Street Lighting Automation
1.Turns street lights ON automatically at night.
2.Garden and Outdoor Lights
1.Activates decorative or security lights in low light.
3.Security Systems
1.Automatically lights up pathways or entrances in the dark.
4.Energy Saving Systems
1.Reduces power wastage by ensuring lights operate only when needed.
5.Solar Lighting Projects
1.Integrates well with solar panels for automatic dusk-to-dawn lighting.

The Conveyor Belt Object Counter using LDR and 7-Segment Display with the 8051 microcontroller is designed to count objects passing in front of an LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) sensor. The system works by detecting light interruptions when an object crosses the sensor, causing a change in the LDR’s resistance. The microcontroller processes this change and increments an object count. The count is then displayed on a 7-segment display.
